With the 160,000-acre Davy Crockett National Forest just five miles away, you'll have easy access to terrific hunting, fishing, and hiking. You can watch for birds and wildlife in the streams and woodlands or head to Ratcliff Lake for a day of boating, swimming, and water skiing. |

| Hunting is a popular sport in the East Texas forests and grasslands. You can make Creekside RV Village into your home base while you head out on hunting expeditions in search of deer, turkey, small game, waterfowl and feral hogs. The Davy Crockett National Forest includes the Alabama Creek Wildlife management area, the Ratcliff Lake recreation area, the Big Slough Wilderness, the Piney Creek Horse Trail, and the Four C Hiking Trail. You can make use of the Ratcliff Lake boat ramps to put your craft into the water before fishing for largemouth bass, crappie, white bass, catfish and panfish. |

Our hometown of Crockett is known for its fabulous festivals and celebrations. Join us in April for the annual Houston County Fair & Livestock Show with its rides and competitions or in June for the rip-roaring World Championship Fiddler's Festival. You can visit during the Pineywoods Fine Arts Association get-together, in October for the Grapeland Peanut Festival, or in February for the Lovelady Lovefest. There's just so much to do and see near Crockett, Texas! |
